4x4 Lift Kits

When you look at pictures of lifted Jeeps or monster trucks, your eyes are probably on the tires. After all, they're probably bigger than your whole car. What you don't see is the 4x4 lift kit underneath which ensures that the 4-wheel drive object of your affection can actually accelerate, stop and corner safely with those monster treads beneath it. 4x4 lift kits are used to stabilize vehicles when they need to be lifted further off of the axle than the manufacturer had in mind.

When your vehicle was engineered, the manufacturer designed your suspension to work effectively with your chassis a certain height from the pavement. When you change that height, some corresponding changes need to be made in your suspension, such as stronger shock absorbers, springs and steering linkage. 4x4 lift kits include all of these parts and more. The combined effect of all these parts is to make your suspension sturdier and increase your suspension travel. On a lifted vehicle, suspension travel is the quality that allows the tire of that vehicle to dip down into a deep rut without trying to take the rest of the 4x4 with it.

There are no 4x4 lift kits that fit all vehicles, or for that matter, all possible modifications that you could do on each vehicle. So, how do you get the right lift kit the first time? We can offer either an all-inclusive 4x4 lift kit specifically for your vehicle, or a collection of individual parts geared towards both your vehicle and the modifications you want to make.

One more cautionary note: if you are not an experienced 4x4 mechanic, find one before you begin re-engineering an already properly made vehicle. A well-done vehicle lift can give you the supertruck of your dreams, while a badly done lift is just expensive and dangerous.
