Jeeps Parts

Jeeps parts are different from regular car parts for an obvious reason; Jeeps are very different from cars. Being a 4x4 vehicle is only the beginning of these differences, by the way. Most people wouldn't take a Prius through a ravine on purpose, so there are no Prius brush guards on the market, but you can find body armor for just about every part of your Jeep. In the same way, both a Jeep and a Prius have shocks, but we expect the Jeep shocks to be able to do a few more tricks.

Stock or factory replacement Jeeps parts are simply meant to replace your factory parts as they wear out. Nearly every moving part on your Jeep has an aftermarket stock equivalent. These stock replacement parts are usually the same or a similar quality as the parts you would get from your dealership, but will be considerably less expensive. Air filters, belts, spark plugs and wires are some examples of common factory replacement parts.

Aftermarket performance parts are also used to replace your factory Jeeps parts, but they are intended to be an improvement over your original parts. For instance, high performance spark plugs deliver better timed and more powerful sparks which will have the effect of increasing your engine's torque. Predictably, the more popular performance Jeep parts are suspension parts and tires, which would help improve a Jeep's traction or suspension travel. Larger tires and wheels, for instance, will be used to give a Jeep more ground clearance as well as to offer better traction on certain surfaces.

Purchasing your Jeeps parts and then installing them yourself will nearly always be less expensive than bringing your Jeep to your dealership or another shop to get the work done. Certain jobs, of course, are best done by either a professional or a very experienced home mechanic. Replacing brakes, modifying a suspension and anything to do with the transmission are tasks that might be worth hiring out, but most Jeep owners are capable of standard parts replacements or upgrades.
