Very easy install and the performance and sound is great!
Simple install. Looks and sounds great. Not too loud but gives off a great sound.
The hardest part was getting the old exhaust off. The RedRock cat-back system was very easy to install. The exhaust note is louder than the stock one. The only bad tone is just above 2000 rpm at 30-40 mph. At highway speeds its not so bad. It makes the engine sound bigger than it is. Do not know of any performance gain at this time.
When first turning on jeep the sound is pretty high pitched. After it warms up the sound is deeper. I would say it is pretty loud and if your jeep doesn’t shift when it is supposed too it can be annoying at times. Overall I like it!
I’m in my mid-40’s so the days of attention seeking via exhaust sounds are over. That being said, I always felt as if the Pentastar v6 could exhibit some more “grunt”, alleviate mud buildup concern, and clear any rock obstacles. The RedRock High Clearance Cat-Back delivered. As described, most of the deeper aggressive exhaust note will be heard on cold start and on heavy acceleration. If you’re a daily city commuter with frequent starts and stops, this might not be the best fit as most of the sound is heard during acceleration. At cruising speeds, the exhaust tone is nearly at stock levels. We were concerned the exhaust would draw too much unwanted attention, annoy the neighbors, or be a nuisance while driving in our soft-top JLU, but this exhaust is functional (no more “suitcase” muffler) and compliments the look and feel of our Jeep! No raspiness and no drone at cruising speeds! Great price, good overall value! Easy DiY installation, about 2.5 hours by myself. Deep sockets make the exhaust hanger removals much easier!
