I went cheap and bought the open box special, so some of the metric hardware was missing. Instead of waiting until morning when the hardware stores opened, I simply drilled and tapped the holes for 1/4×20 hardware and used the stainless hardware I already had in my inventory.
Great, solid, easy, sturdy, and they look like they belong there. Why not use the super sturdy rock rails already equipped to mount these steps?!
