I got the strap because I was going to Colorado and taking some trails for the first time...without a wench or a lift or better tires. Actually did not have to use it but almost did on one occasion when I was turning around on a trail. It was where I put it under the back seats but didn't have to use it as the Jeep behind me was able help out.
