Heavy Duty Construction. These RedRock 4x4 Side Steps are manufactured from heavy duty, 3-inch diameter, round stainless steel tubing for superior strength and rigidity. RedRock 4x4 then completes their Side Steps in a brightly polished finish for classic good looks and long lasting corrosion resistance. As part of the final assembly RedRock 4x4 installs a set of rugged non-slip step pads.

Easy, Bolt-on Installation. This is a great addition to any truck, especially if it has a little height to it. It definitely adds a nice look. Overall the side steps are nice and I am pleased with the look and satisfied with the price point.

But there are a few things I can gripe about.
*First is the allowed tolerances on the ends. The endcaps are not completely seated or are oversized for both sides, and there are some small dings here and there.
*Second is the bolt locations on the steps, in some views from the side you can see the bolt heads.
*Third is mainly on me and my selection, but I would prefer to have the steps hang a little lower, I feel that they are really close and tight to the truck. If I have to raise my leg up high enough for the steps, I might as well lift my leg another 3 inches to the floor of the truck.

3 inch step bars from Red Rock is an easy install, using the existing mounting locations that have plastic plugs screwed into the holes in the body. Took about 45 minutes total to install. Brackets are clearly marked for location. 2 different length hex screws, with 1 style clearly marked on the bag “use for mounting bracket to bars”. Could use a torque value in the instructions due to a smaller bolt used. But with installing all bolts loosely in brackets and bars, a small torpedo level on the steps, you can tighten with confidence. Looks good, and sturdy.
