I purchased this as a replacement for the Rugged Ridge Multi-mount phone holder in which I liked the base but could no longer mount to dashboard due to a aftermarket stereo that eliminates the internal bracket for the mounting screw. I found this holds my android phone, which is in a case, much better on rough roads than the Rugged Ridge one that had a strong spring but soft tips which don't hold phone case all the time. This one doesn't have as strong of a spring but does hold phone by wrapping around the phone edges and having a rest on the bottom. Haven't tried this as a cup holder yet (got mainly for phone) or sure how well it holds liquids due to not being real deep and only a rest on one side maybe to not block dash vent. All in all it's a quick simple install which is at a nice viewing location from the driver seat with a strong metal bracket and doesn't block the windshield. Will see how long the plastic and spring hold up but my phone hasn't jumped out once. Phone can be taken in and out with one hand too.

Literally, the best aftermarket phone holder I've ever had ... oh yeah, it's a cup holder too. lol. I use it for my phone. Perfect location, sturdy, easy to use, etc.
