RedRock Dash Phone Holder (11-18 Jeep Wrangler JK)

Perfect fit. Nice look. But. The side buttons on my phone limit a good fit in the ‘jaws’ and require my phone to be set high which in turn blocks a significant amount of my view thru the center of my windshield. It just sits too high. Tried flipping the ‘jaws’ so that the whole attachment is below the dash. No go. Also, because the front of the ‘cup’ is taller than the cup and dash itself, the cup is impractical. I’m a tall girl (6’) and don’t have a clear view into the cup and don’t like the reach to get things out of it. Minor…no doubt better suited to phones without series of buttons on the sides. Mine, an iPhone 16pro.

As you probably all know, it’s very difficult to have a cell phone holder on any part of the dashboard that is an obtrusive or false. This was easier to install and the location is wonderful.

This has been a great phone holder, it was easy to install and looks good. It holds the phone firmly and hasn’t failed me even on rough terrain.

So, I’ve been looking for a phone holder that works with the contours of my dash in my 2013 Jeep Wrangler JK for a while, and I thought I had finally found “the one”. But in all honesty, this product didn’t really live up to my expectations, considering the price most especially.

For starters, the entire piece is installed right on top of your existing tray but it doesn’t sit flush with the dashboard, so it looks odd (not sure if I was supposed to remove the existing tray but the instructions didn’t say anything about that, nor did the online description from what I remember) and the tray and holder vibrated once I started my Jeep, so my phone was vibrating too.

Second issue, there was a tiny bit of a struggle assembling the holder itself. In addition, the holder sits quite high up off the tray it’s attached to and the holder sits in an odd angle, so your phone is tilted away from you which makes it’s somewhat awkward to view your phone from the driver’s seat. Sadly, it’s not possible to tilt your phone downwards any further so there’s no option to angle it better.

And lastly, the retractable arms of the holder is hard to open to place your phone in the holder and once your phone is in the holder, the mechanism you squeeze to re-open the arms to remove your phone is hidden behind the phone, so it’s a hassle to get to it to take your phone out.

Overall, this product is a disappointment from what I was expecting, not to mention the entire piece feels pretty flimsy for the amount it costs. I’m hoping I can return it.
