RedRock HD Roof Rack (05-23 Tacoma Double Cab)

Seems the mechs @4wheelparts couldn’t figure out the screw holes needed were underneath the weather stripping. Amateurs! Great rack!

I hope the manufacturer reads this.

I traded an OE plastic roof rack for this. The OE is pretty but not practical. Everything is rounded, difficult to tie to and just not usable.

RedRock did a great job with fit and finish. Adequate tie down points to be very utilitarian.

My only complaint is that the hardware that screws into the roof is so poor quality. Every bolt is bent, warped, crooked? I hope no damage occurred with installation. I'm replacing this with better quality hardware and sealing bolt holes to weatherproof all entry point into the cab. (Installation instructions make no mention of protecting against water egress).

I could have done the install quicker, but I'm picky and working by myself. It was easy!

First driving impressions is that it's noisy above 40-45 mph. I'm hard of hearing so take that for whats its worth. I will attempt a few fixes as the noise is quite noticable.

I will recommend this.

Bought this to mount a solar panel to charge a battery bank and some extra lights for offloading. The solar panel mounts easy to this, and the install was straight forward, but the instructions does not say to put adhesive into the roof mounting holes. Do so or water will get inside and stain your headliner!

Also, the picture shows that there are a few holes to mount lights above the windshield on the front of the roof rack. Mine did not have said holes. The weatherstrip provided rusted within a month of installing the roof rack.

Overall, it’s a good product. No complaints other than the extreme vibrations from wind hitting the front air dam.

To fix I bolted a piece of angle iron on the inside of the air dam. 46”x1-1/4”x1/8”
Fixed the issue, air damn is completely solid. Even at freeway speeds(+75mph). Sourced the angle iron and hardware from HD, spent $15.
