RedRock HD Tire Carrier for OEM Tail Gate (07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK)

The product is very strong and sturdy. It looks pretty good and the finish is great. The instructions were terrible and didn't even cover how to install all the components. Especially the heirs joints. Also, the kit should have included some hole plugs to plug the holes left from the old bumpers that the tire used to seat against. I ended cutting the old bumpers down to fit between the rack and tailgate. Now there's no more rattling, banging and popping when I hit large bumps. It took about 3 hours to install with the bad instructions.

Bought this carrier because I wanted to maintain a subtle/factory sort of look with mine even though I upgraded to a 35" tire. The factory hinges were making a lot of noise while driving. Have had it mounted for three days now. Seems to take the load well. No sounds so far. Took about an hour to install. Install video was helpful too. Only thing I would change or suggest on the design is to maybe change out the flat metal spacers that go behind the hinge plate on the tailgate to a hard rubber or thinner metal with a thin rubber seal/bushing to between the metals. This would be better to resist water/dirt from getting trapped and settling in that void or rusting a hole in the body over time. My tailgate already has surface rust starting behind that but I'm planning to make my own rubber bushings/spacers to swap out for those metal ones and give things a better seal and cushion between the metal surfaces. Great product though. Very happy with it so far.
