RedRock Hood Catch Kit; Black (07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK)

Nice quality, but the fit was not good on my 2012 JK. I had almost no hood flutter previously, but now I have it big time. I was just hoping to swap to improve the look of the faded OEM latches.
I thought the install was a pain because you can’t get your hand and/or wrench into the engine compartment to install the lower latches. You might look at the comment from Dave J on January 18, 2024 to see if his suggestion works.

These Red Rocks replaced a pair of old UV faded after market brand hood latches. The job takes less than an hour. It's easy to remove the old and install these if you remove the 6 plastic body snaps holding the grill in place and angle the grill forward without disconnecting the lights. Just enough to get you hand and a 10mm socket or ratcheting wrench in there. I also transferred the rubber cushion spacers from the old hood latches for a tighter fit but I may end up taking them off and see if the hood doesn't vibrate at higher speeds because it makes the latch a little too hard to snap into the locked position. Overall very happy with the updated look, so get them at a this great price!

Put them on and hood wouldn’t close. Would keep popping out of the hole the latch sits in.
