RedRock Hood Scoop Insert with LED Lighting (14-18 Tundra)

I loved the concept, and the scoop was very easy to install and wire in. However...the mounting clips provided were pretty weak, within the first month several of them began popping out of place when driving at freeway speeds, especially with a heavy crosswind, and I ended up buying OEM clips to replace them. The clips popping loose created a bigger problem though, one of the three main brackets that attach the scoop via a 10mm bolt sheared off.

After several attempts to repair this plastic bracket with epoxy I have given up, and once another bracket breaks from the stress I will have to find a new scoop (not another one of these). All the scoop mounting brackets are super thin and fragile, it would not take much more material in manufacturing to make these better, a definite defect in the overall design.

Like I said, good concept, good looks, cool LED lights...VERY disappointed in the quality for the money spent. Purchase date was June 2023.

I bought this to finish out my blackout. Disappointed in the quality. The mold left many tabs, and it was slightly twisted. The connectors were brittle, and one broke. The wires for the light came out on the passenger side of the hood rather than the driver's side close to the battery. Even then, the wires are not long enough to reach a good termination point, so you need to splice on more wire. The piece of gasket they sent to seal it to the hood is completely useless.

I had the same issues as RandallS. The main concern is the scoop doesn't fit flush with the hood at about 3/16in gap. More than likely the pin and screw holes are off slightly.The rubber gasket I had to glue on for it to stay in place. The wiring for the LEDs was not to difficult for me.
I really do like this product because the it makes the my truck look great and seems to be manufactured better than my stock one. I hope it will stand the test of time.

My product arrived quickly. It looks really good on the truck. My only issue was that the plastic pins didn't align as well as they should which makes the hood bulge have a slight gap on top. Doesn't fit as flush like the OEM one. My other issue was that the rubber strip that goes along the top doesn't stay in place, which is a problem with the gap between the hood and bulge. I don't think it'll cause much issue functionally, but some people may want to keep that in mind if you want a tight fit
