RedRock Locking Floor Storage Box (09-18 RAM 1500 Crew Cab)

TBH, I had no idea I had these hidden compartments until I was browsing accessories on the site.

Installed in my 2020 Ram 2500. The OEM in-floor box is shaped different than the older models, but the cut out is the same. I measured a 2018 2500 to my 2020 2500 and they are identical. Also, it is common knowledge that 1500 and 2500 have same size cut outs. This fit without a problem. I did not have the OEM box installed, so I had to take out the cut out cover and cut the carpet.

This box was a bit undersized, overall a 1/2” on the length. The width was fairly close. Minus a star for this and not including a liquid sealant. I also purchased 2 longer bolts as 2 of the bolts that are to be reused would not grab due to the thickness of the carpet.

This review forced me to choose a Ram 1500 for some reason. However, this box was installed in a 2020 Ram 2500 Big Horn Crew Cab 6.7 4x4.

Overall I am satisfied with the install and it looks OEM. The cost was not to bad. I will be purchasing some black sealant to seal the underside.

I have been watching these for a long while and finally pulled the trigger and I’m very happy I did.
The pros- It’s a solid build with a clean finish. Flush install and direct fit. I hate having to cut and trim. It will definitely fit more than just a pistol and jewelry. Safety, security, and peace of mind.
The cons- right out of the box I can see and feel two scratches in the lid of the bin. For the price I would hope for better QC but its only aesthetics, it’s not the end of the world. The hardware provided is a black finished steel. Black stainless steel would have been nice considering they are exposed on the bottom side.
Still a very happy buy! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

It was easy to install and works well, but the paint came off around the edges right out of the box. I coated the bottom portion of the box with rubber undercoating spray keep the noise down and that worked well.
