Ideal for Oversized Spare. The factory spare tire mount is fine for stock size tires, but it really reaches its limit with an oversized spare. That is why RedRock 4x4 offers their Overland HD Tire Carrier. Designed specifically for use with oversized spare tires, the Overland HD Tire Carrier takes the weight and stress off of your Wrangler's sheet metal tailgate. The convenient hinged design still allows you complete access to your tailgate and stored cargo.

LED Accent Lighting. This Overland HD Tire Carrier also includes three high mount amber LED accent lights. These LED accent lights come with a wiring harness that simply splices into your Wrangler's existing factory tail light harness. The LEDs will then automatically activate in conjunction with your running lights. The eye-catching LEDs not only look great, but will also make your Wrangler more visible to other drivers at night and in poor weather conditions.

Heavy Duty Construction. RedRock 4x4 manufactures their Overland HD Tire Carrier from heavy duty steel tubing for superior strength and rigidity. The Carrier is then completed in a 2 stage finish using epoxy pre-coating and high-grade textured black powder coating for long lasting durability and corrosion resistance.

Bolt-On Installation. RedRock 4x4 engineered their Overland HD Tire Carrier to be a direct bolt-on upgrade reusing the factory mounting points. There is no cutting or modifications required for a clean straight forward install. Installation can be completed in about three hours with just basic hand tools.

Application. This RedRock 4x4 Overland HD Tire Carrier is designed to fit 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK models.

Review for RedRock Overland HD Tire Carrier (07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK)

Great looking tire carrier. It does need a bushing on the bottom side of factory hinges. Just add an extra washer there and all is right with the world.

The strength feels good but the brackets were welded so crooked they didn't line up and the hardware was so bad I had to replace it we cut the brackets off and welded it to our armor and the higlnges should have bushings so the tail gate doesn't rub I was very far in the process when I discovered all this this should be half the price it was

Straight forward install, sturdy and what I was looking for. As with any swing away, please know when swinging open it will sag a bit, takes a kt more to close and adds an extra step then with a tailgate combo. I was looking to hold weight, and willing to add the extra step to get into the rear of my Jeep... which is not too often. 37x13.5 with Black Rhino rims are heavy, then add 2 rotopax to the mix and this was the right choice. Please note if you have light guards, they may need to be trimmed.

Ive installed on my 2018 JKU its fitment was really close but to get it level you have to adjust hinges on tailgate a lot it could use bigger bolts on tailgate hinge cause its very lose Tailgate adjustment is off then so you have to find a happy medium between the two. It could use more adjustments on the carrier itself such as a cam bolt or such. It could be my application where I’m running a 38”tire and bead lock rim so my setup is really heavy. But it would help to elongate the holes so you could make up the difference in carrier with weight on it. As long as you don’t mind lifting the carrier to put pins on drivers side its a pretty decent deal. I would say that it could use a little more to get it to be a great product
