RedRock Tailgate Trim Panel with LED Lighting (20-25 Jeep Gladiator JT)

I attached mine with extra tape, and some heavy duty black adhesive(think silicone/ gasket sealer but stronger.) Its been on for almost 6 months countless carwashes and a NY winter with no issues. The tape this comes with, or adding more is simply not enough to keep it in place. you NEED to add a silicone or some other flexible permanent adhesive.
HOWEVER: i took the tailgate off, laid it out flat and applied the sealant to the panel then installed it. I had weights keeping the plastic panel in place.
ALSO: Seal the hole that you pass the wires through with some silicone. The electrical connection instructions were spot on.

The look of this on the tailgate is great. That being said, there are some gotchas that detract. The directions mention removing the "P" from the back tailgate. Actually, the panel bulges in the middle unless you remove ALL of the letters, NOT just the "P" (as per the directions). Also, the tape is terrible. Printing a bunch of Ms on the backing does not make it 3M tape. Even proper prep of the tailgate did not help with the adhesion. If you remove all of the letters, using the guide hole for the "J" will place the double wire at the end of the wire near the jack where you will need to remove less of the hockey tape type of covering. It will probably also help w/ it sticking to the paint as it wouldn't bulge. Going through the "P" hole will actually require you to cut away tape well down the cable.
I will say that it is a great look. I grabbed some actual 3M trim tape (definitely worth the extra $23), and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere now. Personally, for the price, should have been included, but otherwise, the lights work great (including the brake lights). Mileage may vary, but that was my experience. Hope it helps.

The plugs don’t fit through the “P” hole in the tailgate. But other than that it’s an easy install and looks great too. Would recommend
